About the event

The summer solstice is the longest day of the year, a moment the ancient world marked with ritual, gathering and intention. We're opening the doors of The Way to celebrate it together.

The afternoon will begin with 108 sun salutations: 108 is a sacred number in yogic tradition, it holds the ratio of the Sun's distance to Earth relative to its diameter. The solstice is the day of peak solar energy, and this is your opportunity to find the peak of your own.

The repetition, the monotony, will be the challenge. Your mind will look for reasons to stop, but staying present through 108 identical rounds removes all distraction and leaves you alone with yourself, getting past the hard point and into a meditative state.

You will be ready for pranayama and meditation, followed by a soundbath and an intention setting / gratitude circle to close the day.
